Privacy Policy – Cashbook
This Privacy Policy explains how Atulyam ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects information when you use the Cashbook mobile application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect

| Receipt images you choose to scan | Sent to our text-recognition provider to read the amount and details and pre-fill the entry. |
We do not collect your location, and we do not access your bank accounts, cards or UPI apps. The App does not show advertising.
2. Device permissions
- Contacts – to let you pick a person for an entry. Used only when you choose to.
- Camera / Photos / Files – to capture or attach receipts and documents.
- Biometric (fingerprint / face) – to lock the App. Biometric data is handled entirely by your device's operating system; the App never receives or stores it.
- Notifications – to remind you about upcoming due dates.
You can revoke any permission at any time in your device settings.
3. How we use your information
- To provide, maintain and sync the App's features.
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- To let you share cashbooks with other users you invite, with the access level you choose.
- To send OTP codes and service-related messages.
We do not sell your personal information or use it for advertising.
4. Sharing with third parties
We share data only as needed to run the App:
- Hosting provider – our servers at cashbook.atulyam.tech store your account and cashbook data.
- Email delivery provider – to send OTP sign-in codes to your email address.
- OCR.space – receipt images you choose to scan are sent to OCR.space for text recognition. See OCR.space's privacy policy.
- Users you share with – people you grant access to a cashbook can see that cashbook's entries and attachments.
- Legal requirements – if required by law or to protect our rights and users' safety.
5. Data security
Data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections and stored on secured servers with access restricted to authorised personnel. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
6. Data retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete individual entries, categories and cashbooks inside the App at any time.
To delete your account and all associated data, open the App, tap the profile icon, choose Delete account and confirm with the verification code we send you. Deletion is immediate and permanent. If you cannot access the App, you can instead email us at info@atulyam.tech from your registered email address (or include your registered mobile number) with the subject "Delete my Cashbook account" and we will delete your account, cashbooks, entries and attachments within 30 days, except where we must retain limited information to comply with legal obligations.
7. Children's privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Your rights
You may access, correct, export (via PDF/Excel reports) or delete your data. Contact us for any request regarding your personal information.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
